JANUARY 9TH IS NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION DAY

The holiday was inspired by a chain of events that occurred in 2014, when a police officer was involved in a crossfire situation in Missouri. After a series of protests and violent events, Concerns Of Police Survivors (COPS) was motivated to change the negative portrayal of police officers and other law enforcement professionals. The organization, consisting of surviving family members of officers who have died in the line of duty, was driven to support a more positive image of law enforcement, with a focus on reminding the community of the sacrifices officers make every day. The day also serves to raise awareness of the difficult decisions made by officers every day in the best interest of citizens and the law.

We encourage you to take a few minutes out of your day today and appreciate you local law enforcement agency. Whether it’s a police department, sheriff’s office, constable’s office or other entity, those men and women who leave their families behind each day to go out and protect and serve your community deserve your thanks. No, it’s not the day to buy every police officer you see at the local convenience store a donut (although some might appreciate that). It’s the day for you to extend your hand, thank them for serving the community, and give them a smile they might not normally see.

"The Four From the Floor" Slate of Officers and Resolutions

REPUBLICAN WOMEN CHAPEL HILL/CHATHAM (RWCHC) STATEMENT FOR NFRW CONVENTION 2023 RE: “FOUR FROM THE FLOOR”

The Republican Women of Chapel Hill and Chatham County (RWCHC) appreciate the opportunity to be here today and to participate in the future direction of this great organization. As such, we would like to endorse the “Four from the Floor” slate of officers.

Our organization supports this group of officers because they have the character, experience, and qualifications to guide the mission of the National Federation of Republican Women. In addition, the “Four from the Floor” candidates have expressed their intention to sustain the NFRW as an organization for the “Natural Born Female.”

The question on the floor today is ‘what is the definition of a woman?’ Currently, the courts have not clarified a definition of a biological woman. However, in Anita Noelle Green V. Miss United States of America (2022) the court allowed for the “Natural Born Female” eligibility requirement because accepting a choice of gender could fundamentally alter the message of the activity. The Constitution does not protect individuals by gender, but it does safeguard a woman’s right against sexual discrimination.

Note that the criterion of membership for a “Natural Born Woman” does not violate the NFRW Bylaws. Therefore, we want to maintain the National Federation of Women’s Organization as one whose standing policy has been to extend membership of “individual Republican women” who are a “Natural Born Woman.” This policy will maintain the sexual integrity of the organization and its message.

Our organization, the RWCHC, has voted for this membership eligibility requirement. The RWCHC endorses the “Four from the Floor” slate of officers and their resolution* to lead our national organization into the future.

*A Resolution Affirming Both its “Natural Born Female” Membership Eligibility Requirement for Women Members and Its Long-standing “Natural Born Male” Eligibility Requirement for Male Members.

Letter to the Editor - from Chatham County GOP Chair Terry Schmidt

Citizen or Subject?

Joe Biden has declared that any business with over 100 employees must require Covid vaccinations of its employees, or submit those not vaccinated to weekly Covid tests. Nothing in the US Constitution gives a President that authority over its citizens. His tyrannical order is blatantly unconstitutional and will be overturned in court.

What makes this worse is the list of those exempt from this vaccination mandate, including Congress and congressional staffers, and Federal Judges and their staff. Guess which union gave $1.2 million dollars in donations to Democrats in 2020? The US Post Office Letter Carriers union, which also seems exempt from the vaccination mandate.

Who else is exempt from this vaccination mandate? Anyone entering illegally into our country.

A few days ago Vice President Harris said “When people are able to make choices without government interference for themselves — in terms of their well-being and the well-being of their family, in consultation with whomever they may choose — we are a stronger society”. Harris and Biden obviously did not coordinate their sound bites.

A free nation has citizens, which includes our elected officials, who believe in and follow their oath to support the Constitution. Forcing adults to inject vaccines is unconstitutional and immoral; that action turns citizens into subjects.
